  • Vista's Vista to Not Have a Great Vista

It’s (somewhat) official: There will be no major GUI changes in Aero Glass from build 5270 of Vista . M. Keith Warren sums up my sentiments quite nicely over here ; in other words this pretty much sucks. Granted, it’s a little better than XP…but certainly not the “revolutionary”...

  • Links to Individual WinFX Technology Homepages

This is more or less going to be a bookmarking page for me for quick reference (it will be updated whenever I feel like it). Technology Homepages Windows Workflow Foundation — http://msdn.microsoft.com/windowsvista/building/workflow/ Windows Presentation Foundation (Avalon) — http://msdn...

  • Anders Hejlsberg Demos LINQ

Channel 9 has a video up of Anders Hejlsberg (distinguished engineer and chief architect on the C# team) demo’ing LINQ . A big giant lightbulb went off in my head about halfway through the video, and like a good suspense movie I actually started to fill in the blanks a few seconds before Anders...

  • PDC Overload -- LINQ/WPF/WWF/WCF

This year’s PDC has been pretty incredible…I am up to my ears in blog posts/channel 9 videos/whitepapers/webcasts; there is simply no way I am going to be able to wade through it all anytime soon. Combine that with the impending releases of .Net 2.0/Asp.Net 2.0 and SQL Server 2005, and I think that we...

  • WinFS Demo on Channel9

Channel9 has a great WinFS video posted on their site. I am *very* impressed with what I’ve seen thusfar in the demos. Still a little reticent to install the beta 1 bits, waiting for the rest of the geek world to act as guinea pigs for me.

  • WinFS Makes a Cameo Appearance

[edit] Make that virtually *no* documentation, aside from a small .chm file. Doh! [/edit] <-- Per Quentin over at the WinFS blog "The documentation to look at is the SDK... it's called "winfssdk.chm" ". Even sweeter. And unlike the Uncle you were told to stay away from as a child at family reunions...

  • Add/Remove Windows Components on Vista Beta 1

Bob has figured out how to enable Add/Remove Windows components on Vista beta 1… here’s a screenshot . He has promised to post full details soon (with the inherent risk of Uncle Bill tracking him down and feeding him to the fishes). Well done sir, can’t wait to see how you did it!
